It's almost a week into the third edition of the Women's Premier League, the world's biggest women's franchise cricket league. Today, we will discuss the schedule of one of the key WPL teams, the Gujarat Giants. 

The third season of the women's Premier League, which started in February, has witnessed multiple exciting games. So far, in the first five games we have seen all the teams playing 2-3 matches each, and we have got an early picture of how the tournament may progress.

In the tournament opener of the WPL 2025 season, Royal Challengers Bengaluru played Gujarat Giants. Gujarat Giants, batting first, scored a massive total of 201 runs, but in response, RCB batted exceptionally, creating history by chasing the highest-ever target in the Women's Premier League's history. 

Out of the eight games this season, Gujarat Giants have played three, losing two of those matches against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Mumbai Indians. The only match the team won was against UP Warriorz.

In the third season of the women's Premier League, UP Warriorz will play eight games in a round-robin format. After losing the first game, UP will look to register its first win against the Delhi Capitals on Wednesday.

Top 3 Gujarat Giants Players to Watch Out for

Ashleigh Gardner

Ashleigh Gardner who has now become the captain of Gujarat Giants the WPL 2025, has performed well in the season so far is scoring two half-centuries along with 2/39 against UP Warriorz. Gardner has stepped up with her contributions after becoming the captain which is really helpful for the team, but Gujarat's performance in the season is not on par with the fan's expectations, and that is something Captain Gardner really needs to work on. 

Beth Mooney

Former captain of Gujarat Giants, Beth Mooney stepped down from the captaincy before the season started and is now playing a key role in the team as a batter and wicketkeeper. In her 11 matches so far in the WPL, she has scored 341 runs with an average of 37.88.

Deandra Dottin

One of the most interesting acquisitions for the Gujarat Giants in the WPL 2025 auction was Deandra Dottin, who joined the team for a price of 1.7 crore. The Caribbean hard-hitter is a key finisher for the Giants this season. In the first match of the season against UP Warriorz, Dottin scored an explosive 33 runs off 18 balls while also claiming two wickets.
