Gautam Gambhir criticizes leaks from Indian dressing room as 'just reports, not truth'

Gautam Gambhir criticizes leaks from Indian dressing room as 'just reports, not truth'The Indian team head coach Gautam Gambhir is clear that there is no conflict within the team. Gambhir says what they converse about in the dressing room isn't for everyone's ears. In addition, all this talk is just making it harder for the team, since they're already behind in the series with the 1-2.

Gambhir noted the importance of keeping team discussions in private and real, just before the final Test in Sydney against Australia. He brought up how important it was to not reveal what was happening inside the Indian team dressing room during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

After India was badly defeated by Australia in the Boxing Day Test, there were rumors about Gambhir getting very angry at the team. He scolded them for just playing their usual way instead of reconfiguring things to suit the game, but Gambhir said all that chatter wasn't true.

Gambhir’s Strong Message on Team Strategy

However, Gambhir downplayed the situation, saying, "Those are just reports, not truth. I don't feel the need to respond to such reports. What I can say is that I shared some honest words, and honesty is more important if you want to achieve great things."

He also addressed the importance of team unity by saying, "Team first. It's a team game, and everyone knows that.Any debates between a player and a coach should stay private.Conversations in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room."

After a game, a report from the Indian Express caused a stir, claiming that Gambhir was upset during the post-match team meeting. According to the Indian Express report, he warned the players that those who didn’t follow his plan might be benched for the next match. Gambhir later admitted that he had given the players some freedom in the past six months but made it clear that he now plans to take a stricter approach towards the team.

Sreevats Goswami and Irfan Pathan, who used to play cricket for India, think it's extremely unfortunate that discussion from the team's dressing room leaked out. Irfan said, "What happens in the dressing room should stay in the dressing room."

India and Australia are going to clash in the fifth test in Sydney on January 3. Gambhir finished it by saying that, everyone is watching for a victory in Sydney. He believes the team will really improve their approach for the final match in the series. If India wins, they retain the Border-Gavaskar trophy because it'll end up being a 2-2 tie.
