Five IPL Teams All set bring New Captains, Check The List

India's cricket festival is just around the corner; the Indian Premier League, which happens once a year and ranges for over 2 months, is all set to roar in the 2025 season again. 10 franchises with 200 players and a billion fans, this league has a lot to go for to everyone. Whether it's new domestic or proven overseas players, today we will talk about who will captain the ten franchises; while there will be some of the same faces in the franchises, other franchises will be led by new faces altogether. 

Starting with Chennai Super King, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will still be with the team, but he will not be leading it like last year. The baton will be passed on to Rutiraj Gaikwad from the previous year, and Gaikwad will lead the team moving forward. 

If you talk about Mumbai Indians, the controversial change last year replacing Rohit Sharma as captain with Hardik Pandya, who was traded from Gujarat Titans, will continue this season, too.

This year, RCB will probably have a new captain who has also commanded the franchise before. The decision has not yet been made, but reports suggest that Virat Kohli will become RCB Captain again.

Let's talk about the Kolkata Knight Rider. The team has not purchased any proven captain face in the auctions or the races between Ajinkya Rahane and Venkatesh. After the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy performances, Rahane is leading the race; some reports suggest Sunil Narayan also has a slight chance. 

Sunrisers Hyderabad are not changing their captain this year, as he did an excellent job taking the team to the finals last year. Like the Gujarat Titans, the team wants to keep its young captain, Shubhman Gill. Rajasthan Royals, who have been performing well in the last few seasons under Sanjay Samson, will again continue under his leadership. 

While there will be some big changes in the Northern Indian teams, Punjab Kings, Delhi Capitals and Lucknow Super Giants are all set to have new captains for the season after the departure of Shikhar Dhawan Rishabh Pant and KL Rahul, respectively. 

After the record-breaking purchase of Shreyas Iyer, will become the Punjab Kings IPL 2025 captain. 

Since Rishabh Pant is now in Lucknow Supergiants, he may become the team's captain, but some suggest discussing Nicholas Pooran, too. However, we think he has very little chance.

The last team is the Delhi Capitals. After KL Rahul's purchase, it is a formality that he will lead the team.

We will definitely see some old captains in the new jerseys. Under new leadership, IPL 2025 will be exciting to watch.
