England bowler Cross has decided to withdraw from the WPL

England bowler Cross has decided to withdraw from the WPLEngland cricketer Kate Cross has decided not to play for defending champions Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming Women’s Premier League (WPL). The 33-year-old seamer had been part of England's squad during their Women’s Ashes campaign in January, where they suffered a heavy 16-0 defeat to Australia. Unfortunately, Cross couldn’t play due to a back injury.

Kim Garth Replaces Cross

The Australian bowler Kim Garth is replacing Kate Cross after a great performance in the Ashes series, where she took nine wickets. Heather Graham will also replace Sophie Devine.

Australia’s all-rounder Heather Graham will take the place of New Zealand's Sophie Devine at Royal Challengers Bangalore. Devine is taking a break from cricket to focus on her mental wellbeing.

Alyssa Healy Out with Injury

Australia’s captain, Alyssa Healy will also miss the third season of the WPL as she continues to recover from a foot injury. Healy’s spot at UP Warriorz will be replaced by West Indies cricketer Chinelle Henry.

WPL Season 3 Starts Soon

Kim Garth, who played for Gujarat Giants in the last season, is the only replacement with prior experience in the tournament. Heather Graham and Chinelle Henry are the first time to the WPL.

The third season of the Women’s Premier League will kick off on 14th February.
