Delhi Capitals Strengthen Coaching Lineup with Two New Fielding Coaches for IPL 2025

As the 18th season of the Indian Premier League approaches, Delhi Capitals has strengthened its coaching staff by adding Gnaneswara Rao and Anton Roux as fielding coaches for IPL 2025. They will be working closely with Head Coach Hemang Badani, Assistant Coach Matthew Mott, and Bowling Coach Munaf Patel to support the team.

Former South African domestic player Anton Roux is known for his knack for helping young talent excel and brings a wealth of coaching experience. He has previously most notably served as the Proteas' Bowling Coach and also as Sri Lanka's Fielding Coach. Gnaneswara Rao has been a part of the Capitals family, having represented India Capitals in the Legends League, and also served as the Fielding Coach for the ILT20 title-winning Dubai Capitals. During his cricketing career, he played 23 T20 matches, scoring 429 runs at a strike rate of 123.98, and was also part of former IPL franchise Kochi Tuskers Kerala in the 2011 season.

Delhi Capitals are happy to welcome the duo onboard for the upcoming IPL season. The game will kick off for the team in Visakhapatnam on 24th March 2025.

Axar Patel is expected to captain Delhi Capitals in the IPL 2025 season

After a fresh start at the IPL 2025 mega auction, DC is hoping to turn things around and finally win their first title. The team will also have a new captain after Rishabh Pant’s exit.

Axar Patel, KL Rahul, and Faf du Plessis were seen as the top choices for the captaincy. However, reports from IANS suggest that Rahul has turned down the offer, making Axar Patel the front-runner for the captaincy role.
