On the game's first day, India won the toss and decided to bowl first. When Australia came to bat, the game was stopped due to rain. Only 13.2 overs could be bowled, and 28 runs were scored without wickets.

India Took Three Early Wickets

Day 2 started with Nathan McSweeney and Usman Khawaja on the pitch. Both the batters were dismissed within five overs of the day's start. Jasprit Bumrah was the wicket-taking bowler. Wicketkeeper Rishab Pant caught Nathan, while Virat caught McSweeney in the slips. After that, Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschange moved the scoreboard until Labuschagne got out at 12 runs. 

The Mighty 241 runs Partnership.

After the 3rd wicket, Smith and the last match centurion Travis Head contributed to a partnership of over 200 hundred runs. Smith scored 101 runs in 190 balls, hitting 12 boundaries with a strike rate of 53.26. while Travis Head continues his ongoing form and scored one more century in the series. In his fast-paced innings with a 95 strike rate, he scored 152 runs in 160 balls and hit 18 boundaries. The partnership makes the Indian bowler and fielders tired as it continues for more than 50 overs.

Again, Three Quick Wickets

The partnership was broken when India took the new ball, and Steve Smith got out in the 83rd over on the ball of Jaspreet Bumrah behind the stumps. After Smith's wicket, the Australian middle order collapsed, and they lost three wickets in just 11 runs. After Smith, Mitchell Marsh, and Travis Head followed him to the dressing room, Jaspreet Bumrah sent these three middle-order batters back to the pavilion.

Travis Head continued his form on the Australian side, and Jaspreet Bumrah continued with his creative bowling show. In the first six wickets, Bumrah took 5 of them, marking his another fifer in Australian soil. It was his 12th five-wicket haul in his career, and now he is the second-highest five-wicket holder in Indian cricket history, only next to the great Kapil Dev.

Alex and Cummins stabilised the Innings.

After three quick wickets, Pat Cummins and Alex Carry scored one more partnership in the innings. Both contributed 58 runs for the seventh wicket until Mohammad Siraj dismissed Pat Cummins behind the stumps in the 98th over. Cummins scored 20 runs in 33 balls.

The day ended with Alex Carry and Mitchell Starc on the pitch batting for Australia. 87.4 were bowled on the day, where the batting team scored 377 runs, losing seven wickets. Day 3 will start at 5:15 IST, half an hour early.
