SRH Chase Down 243 to Stun MI at Wankhede in IPL Thriller

The Sunrisers Hyderabad hand Mumbai Indians their 6th defeat in 8 games this season with a thumping chasing win, chasing a massive total of 243 despite losing the toss. A six-wicket win for the Orange Army at the Wankhede Stadium. Heinrich Klaasen and Travis Head were the chief architects in the 4th highest chase in the history of the league hitting key fifties. Ryan Rickelton smashed a record individual score for MI hitting an unbeaten 123 off 55 deliveries with 10 fours and 8 sixes.

Will Jacks featuring in his first game this season hit 46 off 22 adding 93 runs for the first wicket. Skipper Hardik Pandya played some good shots in his 15-ball 31 to close the innings as MI posted 243/5 - their highest total at Wankhede. In response, Abhishek Sharma and Head started off in their usual crash and wallop approach taking on the bowlers in the powerplay. Head also got a few lives with Naman Dhir dropping multiple catches inside and outside the ring.

Travishek added 129 runs in just 8.4 overs before Allah Ghazanfar send Sharma back for 45 in 24 balls (4 fours, 3 sixes) and then Ishan Kishan for his 2nd golden duck in the season. Heinrich Klaasen arrived at number 4 but skipper Pandya dismissed the well set Head in the very next over. Klaasen took over the attacker's role, picking up where the openers left off and didn't take much time to find the momentum. Nitish Kumar Reddy at 5 (21 off 17) played around him in a 80-run stand which was broken by Trent Boult in the 17th over when Reddy went for an unusual big heave.

Salil Arora then joined forces with Klaasen. Sliced his first ball for four and smashed 2 fours and 3 sixes to remain unbeaten on 30 off only 10 balls, also finishing the game off a six against Hardik with 8 balls left. Klaasen remained at the crease till the end with 65 to his name off 30 balls, 7 fours and 4 magnificent sixes flying off his blade. Boult finished as the most economic bowler for MI with 1/41, Pandya was next in line with 1/39, Ghazanfar picked up 2 wickets but was taken for 51 runs in his 4 overs, Ashwani Kumar's 2 overs were smothered for 41 runs and Jasprit Bumrah had another unsuccessful outing with 54 scored off his 4 wicketless overs.
