Cricket Australia Announces Central Contracts for 2025-26: Full List of Players Ahead of WTC Final & Ashes

Cricket Australia Announces Central Contracts for 2025-26: Full List of Players Ahead of WTC Final & AshesCricket Australia has announced its list of contracted players for the 2025/26 season. Most senior players have been retained, while two new names have been added. One of them is Sam Konstas, who impressed everyone with his debut in the Boxing Day Test and has now earned his first central contract.

Konstas and Kunhemann have been inducted

Spinner Matthew Kuhnemann has also earned a contract alongside Konstas. He found great success in Sri Lanka but was later reported for a suspect bowling action. However, after undergoing a reassessment test, he has now been cleared to bowl again.

“Matt (Kuhnemann) was outstanding once again in Sri Lanka and we believe he can play a key role across the next 18 months,” Australia chairman of selectors George Bailey said.

“In Beau’s case he proved more than comfortable at Test level with bat and ball, adds an additional dimension in the field and to the balance of the side. In Sam we see promising upside in a young player who will continue to develop at first class level and in the international environment,” said Bailey.

Cricket Australia has offered contracts to 23 players for the upcoming season. However, Todd Murphy, Sean Abbott, and Aaron Hardie have been left out. Despite their inconsistent performances over the past year, Matt Short and Mitchell Marsh have still managed to earn contracts.

Upcoming Fixtures for Australia

Australia will face South Africa next in the World Test Championship (WTC) final in June at Lord’s. After that, they will prepare for the much-anticipated Ashes series against England.
