BCCI to Update IPL 2025 Teams on New Rules and Changes in Pre-Season Meet, Followed by CaptainsPhotoshoot
The date for the IPL captain’s gathering is finally revealed. The pre-season occasion is set to happen in Mumbai, at the BCCI headquarters on March 20. According to a report in Cricbuzz, the representatives of all the teams are also invited to join the event. The report further mentions that the meeting will primarily serve as a briefing for the tournament and will last an hour.
The teams will further be informed about the new additions and changes for the season. This will be followed by the sponsor activities at the Taj Hotel, followed by a photoshoot of all the IPL captains.
One of the changes this year is that the photoshoot, which normally takes place in the city where the season opener is being played, will not be doing so this time.
This only hints that there could be a significant announcement on March 20. The 10 captains attending the event will be Axar Patel (DC), Hardik Pandya (MI), Pat Cummins (SRH), Ruturaj Gaikwad (CSK), Rajat Patidar (RCB), Rishabh Pant (LSG), Shreyas Iyer (PBKS), Sanju Samson (RR), Ajinkya Rahane (KKR), and Shubman Gill (GT).
Axar Patel and Rajat Patidar are two new captains who have been added to the list. However, the first match of IPL 2025 will be held between KKR and RCB in Kolkata. However, most of the players of all the franchises have reached India for the tournament. In fact, there was some doubt about whether Pat Cummins would be able to play for SRH to the full for the WTC final starts on June 11, but he has confirmed that he will be available.
