BCCI Elections: Devajit Saikia And Prabhtej Singh To Become New BCCI Secretary and Treasurer.

For a leadership change after the election, Devajit Saikia And Prabhtej Singh are both set to take over as New Secretary and Treasurer of the Board of Control for India (BCCI), respectively. In the election, both the candidates are going to be elected unopposed as no one else has fired their nomination for the elections.

The BCCI electoral officer, Achal Kumar Joti, is overseeing the election process for the new Secretary and Treasurer after the previous Secretary, Jay Shah, became ICC chairman. 

The last date for filing the nomination was January 7 by 2:00 p.m., and no other nominations were filed for their respective positions until the deadline. Will both nominations be elected unopposed?

The final list of candidates with nominations was released on January 7 at 5:00 p.m., showing that single nominations have been filed for the positions.

The unopposed election shows the BCCI members' trust in the leadership and the peacefulness of the election process.

Who is Devajit Saikia?

Devajit Saikia became interim BCCI secretary on December 1, after the previous secretary, Jay Shah, became the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman. Saikia has long-standing experience in cricket administration and management. 

Who is Prabhtej Singh Bhatia?

After the previous treasurer, Ashish Shelar, stepped down to join the Maharashtra government, elections were required for the position. With a background in finance and management, Bhatia is an optimal choice for the role.
