BCCI Announces Women's Central Contracts Shreyanka, Arundhati Reddy Earn Spots, Shafali Retains Place

BCCI Announces Women's Central Contracts Shreyanka, Arundhati Reddy Earn Spots, Shafali Retains PlaceOn March 24, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) announced the Annual Player Contracts for the India women's cricket team for the 2024-25 season. Captain Harmanpreet Kaur, vice-captain Smriti Mandhana, and all-rounder Deepti Sharma have been awarded Grade 'A' contracts.

Fast bowler Renuka Thakur, batter Jemimah Rodrigues, wicketkeeper-batter Richa Ghosh, and opener Shafali Verma have been included in the 'Grade B' category. Even after being dropped from the white-ball team following a poor ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2024 in the UAE, Shafali has been able to hold her spot. Her consistent performances in domestic cricket and the recently finished Women's Premier League (WPL) 2025 also helped her retain her contract.

The 'Grade C' list includes nine players, including promising youngsters Shreyanka Patil, Titas Sadhu, and Amanjot Kaur. Young opener Pratika Rawal, though failed to make it to the contracts. Another prominent miss is Harleen Deol.

Grade A, Grade B, and Grade C players get ₹50 lakh, ₹30 lakh, and ₹10 lakh per year, respectively. But their match fees are equal to their male counterparts ₹15 lakh per Test, ₹6 lakh per ODI, and ₹3 lakh per T20I.

Harmanpreet Kaur-led India will have their next assignment in England, where they will be hosting a limited-overs series including five T20Is and three ODIs. The T20I series commences on June 28.
