BCCI Announces India Squad for South Africa Test Series 2025; Rishabh Pant Returns, Devdutt Padikkal Included

India Squad for South Africa Test Series 2025 The BCCI has announced India’s team for the two Test matches against South Africa. Rishabh Pant makes his return after recovering from a toe injury he got during the fourth Test against England in Manchester. Along with the regular players, Akash Deep is back in the team, and Devdutt Padikkal has also been included in the squad.

Abhimanyu Easwaran has once again been left out of the Indian Test team after missing the series against the West Indies. The Bengal batter, who is still waiting for his Test debut, was part of the squad during the England series but did not get a chance to play.

Other players not included in the squad are Mohammed Shami, Sarfaraz Khan and Karun Nair. All three are currently playing in the Ranji Trophy 2025/26 and are not in the selectors plans at the moment. Dhruv Jurel has been picked as the backup wicketkeeper, while Devdutt Padikkal could act as the backup for the number three batting position.

The India National Cricket Team represents India in international cricket and is one of the strongest teams in the world.

Interestingly, Prasidh Krishna, who played in the Test series against the West Indies, has not been included in the Test squad this time. Instead, he has been picked for the ODI series against South Africa.

Tilak Varma has been named captain of the India A team for the series against South Africa A. As expected, senior players Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are not part of the squad. India A will play three one-day matches in Rajkot on November 13, 16 and 19.
