Riyan Parag Vaping Controversy Takes New Turn as Board of Control for Cricket in India Issues First Response

It’s not something you usually see in cricket. But on Tuesday, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag was seen vaping inside the dressing room during a match against Punjab Kings.
Riyan Parag Vaping Video Row Board of Control for Cricket in India Demands Explanation
Rajasthan Royals put up a commendable performance and scored 223 runs successfully chasing the same. But instead of discussing their victory, everyone seems to be discussing the video.
According to reports, the Board of Control for Cricket in India will soon contact Parag for an explanation of the matter. A BCCI official clarified that vaping is strictly prohibited and further added that they will make their decision after receiving the answer.
This incident allegedly took place after Parag got out at the score of 29 runs from 16 balls. Nonetheless, despite this setback, Rajasthan Royals won the match and gave Punjab Kings their first defeat of the season.
This is not the first problem for the Rajasthan Royals this year. Before this, team manager Romi Bhinder was caught using his mobile phone while watching a game in Guwahati. He was found to be innocent but was cautioned and fined ₹1 lakh.
Parag is not having a good run with the bat this year either. In 9 innings, Parag scored only 117 runs with an average of 14. The previous year, Parag made 393 runs, whereas in 2024, Parag was in top form scoring 573 runs.
Even after this victory, Rajasthan Royals occupy third place with 12 points. However, they seem to be a good team and have a high probability of qualifying for the playoffs.
