Bangladesh missed the chance to secure direct qualification for the World Cup

New Zealand's women's cricket team qualified directly for the 2025 World Cup for women's cricket. That's because the women's from Bangladesh lost their last game against West Indies team. Even though New Zealand and Bangladesh had the same number of points 21, New Zealand won one more game. New Zealand women's won nine times, but Bangladesh women's won eight.

The were several matches where ten teams played against each other. Each team got to play at their home four matches and away tours four matches. They all play eight three-match series one after another for each match-up.

India and the other five top teams were guaranteed direct qualification, while the remaining four teams had the opportunity to secure a spot through the Qualifier.

Australia won the championship with 39 points. India also performed very well with 37 points so they came in second. England was slightly behind with 32 points in the third position. South Africa with 25 points and Sri Lanka with 22 points.

The World Cup qualifier is an important game where teams play to get into the World Cup. Bangladesh, West Indies, Pakistan, and Ireland are going to play. Scotland and Thailand were also allowed to play because they were proficient at cricket. They all want to win two important places in the World Cup.

In 2025, the Women's World Cup will be hosted in India. It's the fifth time. The last time in India was in 2016 with the T20 World Cup. There will be eight teams playing, and they will play 31 games just as they did in the last World Cup in 2022.
