Australia Crush Oman by 9 Wickets to End ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 Campaign on High

[ Poll: 3yQ1vKyK ]

Australia ended their ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 campaign on a positive note, crushing Oman by 9 wickets with 62 balls left in a completely one-sided match. Oman showed a few good individual performances during the tournament, but they finished without earning a single point on the table.

Losing the toss, Oman posed no threat to the Aussies. Xavier Bartlett picked up a wicket off the first ball of the match and bowled 4 overs on the trot finishing with 2/27. Adam Zampa was the pick of the bowlers finishing with 4/21, Glenn Maxwell also picked up a couple of wickets with only Cameron Green remaining wicketless in his 2 overs.

Australia sign off with dominant 9-wicket win as Oman finish pointless

Wasim Ali in the middle order held one end for Oman and top scored with 32 in 33 balls helping the side to register 104 before being bowled out in 16.2 overs. Australia started the chase with fireworks, Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head smashing the ball to all parts and beyond. The Aussie skipper brought up a 26-ball half century and remained unbeaten on 64 in 33 deliveries hitting 7 fours and 4 sixes.

Travis Head dealt in boundaries as well smashing 6 fours in his 19-ball 32 before he was caught by Shakeel Ahmed off his own bowling. The left arm spinner was the pick of the bowlers with 1/29 in 4 overs. Josh Inglis hammered 12 in 6 balls to finish things off in the 10th over. Marsh and Head added 93 runs for the first wicket in just 49 legal deliveries setting the thumping win to bow out of the T20 World Cup.
