Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Reduces Ticket Prices as IND vs PAK Match Faces Slow Sales Ahead of Asia Cup 2025
Interest in the India vs Pakistan match is unusually low. This rivalry is one of the biggest in cricket, and their clash usually brings a lot of excitement for the Asian Cricket Council. But recent political tensions between the two countries have affected fans’ interest and ticket sales for the big game in Dubai on Sunday are moving slowly.
Usually, India vs Pakistan tickets vanish in seconds, but this time things are different. Even with just 4 days left for the game, tickets are still available. Many people in India are calling for a boycott after the tragic Pahalgam terror attack earlier this year. Just last month, an Indian legends team with Yuvraj Singh and Shikhar Dhawan pulled out of their matches against Pakistan. In reply, the Pakistan Cricket Board warned they might stop teams from participating in such tournaments in the future.
Usually, India vs Pakistan tickets sell out in seconds, but this time, they’re still available just days before the Asia Cup 2025 clash. To attract more fans, the ACC has cut ticket prices standard tickets dropped from 475 dirhams (INR 11.3k) to 350 dirhams (INR 8.3k). While organizers say it’s because of fan feedback, slow sales are probably the real reason with premium seats selling the slowest. Still, an Emirates Cricket Board official is confident tickets will sell fast as the match day gets closer and dismissed any talk of struggling sales.
“The signs are very encouraging. There is no truth to the claim that tickets are not getting sold.On Wednesday night, we put out 3,000 tickets through the online channel, the Platinum List and they were all sold out within a couple of minutes. It clearly shows that there is strong interest among fans,” an ECB source told.
