Asia Cup 2025: Salman Ali Agha Injury Update – Misses Training, But PCB Remains Hopeful

Pakistan captain Salman Ali Agha picked up a slight neck spasm during practice before the Asia Cup 2025. The team management is hopeful he will recover in time and be ready to lead in the important upcoming matches. Agha missed a significant part of the training session on Wednesday, September 10, at the ICC Academy in Dubai.
The all-rounder was seen sporting a bandage on his neck after complaining of pain in his neck.
Geo News has reported that even though Agha travelled with the squad, he didn’t take part in the warm-ups or the light football drills. While the rest of the players went through their full fitness session, his limited involvement raised concerns in the camp, especially with the big match against India coming up on Sunday.
"I think we are playing good cricket, we started that a few months ago. Things are coming together, as a team we are playing good cricket and looking forward to this tournament, and everyone is very excited," Salman said in the pre-series press conference.
PCB hopeful of Salman’s quick recovery ahead of Asia Cup opener
The PCB has downplayed the worries, saying it’s only a small issue and nothing serious. The 31-year-old is likely to be back in full training soon, and the team management is hopeful he will be ready to lead Pakistan in the important Asia Cup 2025 matches.
Pakistan are placed in Group A, alongside India, Oman, and the UAE. The Men in Green will begin their Asia Cup campaign on Friday, September 12, at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, when they face Oman. This will be the first meeting between the two sides in T20I cricket.
