3 Possible Replacements for Harry Brook at Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025

The star batter Harry Brook has decided to skip IPL 2025 for reasons that haven’t been revealed. It has created a big hole in the Delhi Capitals' squad ahead of the next edition and they would now have to find an able replacement for the English star. 

Harry Brook was bought for INR 6.25 crore and was expected to play a key role in the middle order for DC. Now that he has pulled out of IPL 2025, DC will need to find a suitable overseas replacement.

1. Dewald Brevis

Dewald Brevis made his mark on the big stage quite early, but it took him a couple of seasons to truly grow into the player everyone expected him to be. Playing as a finisher for the champions MI Cape Town in the SA20, the 21-year-old impressed with a strike rate of 184, the best in the tournament, scoring 291 runs at an average of 48.50. With Tristan Stubbs struggling for form, having an in-form middle-order batter who can finish games could be a smart move for the Capitals, especially with the impact player rule allowing them to balance the team with an extra bowler.

2. Michael Bracewell 

Delhi Capitals have a strong spin attack, maybe as good as Chennai Super Kings' experienced spinners. But they might still want an overseas spinning all-rounder who can also bat at different spots. Michael Bracewell did well for New Zealand in the Champions Trophy and has played in the IPL before, so he could be a good choice.

3. Daryl Mitchell

Daryl Mitchell seems like the best choice to replace Harry Brook because he’s been performing really well in recent years. He can bat anywhere in the order and adjust his style depending on the situation, which makes him a valuable player.

Mitchell had a great year in T20Is in 2024, scoring runs consistently with a strong strike rate of around 160. He also did well in the IPL 2024 for CSK, scoring 318 runs in 13 innings at an average of 28.90 and a strike rate of 142.60. Plus, he can bowl a bit when needed, adding extra value to the team.
