IPL 2025 Live: RCB vs PBKS Live Score- Punjab Kings Crush RCB at Home in 14-Over Chase

LIVE UPDATES

IPL 2025 Live: RCB vs PBKS Live Score- Rain could potentially delay the toss in Bengaluru

[Indian Premier League 2025.t20 - Punjab Kings , Royal Challengers Bengaluru 2025-04-18 18:30:00]

Welcome to RCB vs PBKS live coverage! After 33 exciting matches, it's time for match number 34th of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League, which will be played between two of the top performers of the IPL 2025, Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bengaluru. The teams are coming off victories in their last games and promise an exciting match, given their form.

Punjab Kings win by 5 wickets!

RCB's valiant effort—especially Tim David's counter-attacking 48 off 26—wasn't enough to defend a low total. Nehal Wadhera played a match-winning knock, finishing unbeaten on 33 off 19, and sealed the deal with a six and a four off Bhuvneshwar Kumar before Stoinis finished things off in style with a six off Yash Dayal.

Final Score:

  • RCB: 91/9 in 14 overs

  • PBKS: 94/5 in 12.1 overs

Top Performers:

  • Tim David – 48 (26)

  • Nehal Wadhera – 33* (19)

  • Bhuvneshwar Kumar – 3-0-26-2

Another home loss for RCB. Their batting woes and bowling decisions continue to haunt them. Punjab, on the other hand, walk away with a solid win and much-needed momentum.

PBKS 80/4 after 11 overs – Nehal Turns the Heat On

What an over from Nehal Wadhera! A six, a couple of fours, and even four byes in a chaotic six balls – 15 runs off Suyash Sharma’s third over, and the pressure just melted off Punjab’s chase.

RCB needed to tighten things up after getting a few wickets, but Nehal has shifted the momentum sharply. Just 25 runs needed off 54 balls now. Unless there’s a collapse, PBKS have this one in the bag.

RCB fans will be praying for a miracle – but it’s all Nehal for now.

End of 10 Overs: PBKS 65/4
Target: 93 | Runs Needed: 28 off 60 balls

Josh Hazlewood finishes a superb spell: 3 overs, 14 runs, 3 wickets. He’s the reason RCB is still hanging on in this low-scoring thriller. His bounce, movement, and tight lines caused all sorts of problems.

PBKS, though, are still favorites — they just need to bat smart from here. But one or two more quick wickets and we’ve got a real match on our hands.

RCB’s lifeline? Spin + pressure.
PBKS's task? Don't panic. Rotate strike. Finish it.

Momentum feels on a knife's edge now.

PBKS 63/4 after 9 overs – Nehal Turns It On!

After three consecutive dots, Nehal Wadhera unleashed a momentum-shifting blitz:

  • reverse-swept FOUR

  • Followed by a muscular SIX over wide long-on

From nerves to cheers in two deliveries – Punjab needed that.
33 runs off 30 balls now. The required run rate is well under control, and RCB need wickets quickly to stay in the game.

Nehal's at 11(7) and looking dangerous.
RCB fans, don’t relax yet – this could swing fast!

PBKS 53/4 after 8 overs – Hazlewood Brings RCB Roaring Back!

What an over from Josh Hazlewood!
Two huge wickets – Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis – both caught trying to force the pace. He now has 3 wickets for just 13 runs in 2 overs, and suddenly, this chase looks anything but easy.

RCB have found a spark, and with Punjab needing 38 runs off 72 balls, the match is still in their grasp if they keep taking wickets.

Momentum shift? Oh, absolutely.
This chase just got interesting!

Josh Inglis c Suyash Sharma b Hazlewood 14(17) [4s-2]
Shreyas Iyer c Jitesh Sharma b Hazlewood 7(10)

PBKS 50/2 after 7 overs – Calm Progress

The 7th over was a quiet one, just 4 runs from Suyash Sharma’s first. He's finding some turn and keeping it tidy, making the batters work for every run. Shreyas Iyer and Josh Inglis look in control, but RCB won’t mind a few tight overs building pressure.

Required: 41 off 78 balls
RCB needs wickets – and quickly – or this chase might just cruise home.

PBKS 46/2 after 6 overs – Josh Inglis Finds His Rhythm

In this over, Josh Inglis found his groove with two beautiful boundaries off Krunal Pandya. Punjab’s chase continues at a steady pace, with Shreyas Iyer and Inglis now looking comfortable. The absence of pressure on the run rate means they can continue to play their shots, making the chase look increasingly straightforward. RCB will need a breakthrough soon if they hope to turn this around.

PBKS 36/2 after 5 overs – Tight Over from Yash Dayal

Yash Dayal pulls things back nicely for RCB with a disciplined over, conceding just 3 runs. He keeps Josh Inglis quiet with some clever angles and good length, while Shreyas Iyer is content rotating strike. The pressure is slowly building despite the low target — PBKS need 62 off 60 balls.

RCB will be hoping for a couple more breakthroughs, and with Tim David's name echoing in the stands after his fiery knock, momentum might just be tilting. Can PBKS stay calm or will RCB pull off the improbable?

PBKS 33/2 after 4 overs – Hazlewood Strikes Again!

Just as Priyansh Arya began to accelerate with a lucky six and a solid square drive, Hazlewood got his revenge. A sharp, rising delivery forced a top-edge and Tim David, yet again, made no mistake under the high ball. That’s Hazlewood’s first and RCB’s second — both catches to David at mid-off!

Josh Inglis joins Iyer now, and with both new at the crease, RCB sense an opening. Game evenly poised — PBKS still need 42 off 36. One or two tight overs here could tilt the momentum!

Priyansh Arya c Tim David b Hazlewood 16(11) [4s-1 6s-1]

PBKS 23/1 after 3 overs – Bhuvneshwar Strikes Back

Just as Prabhsimran looked to shift gears with two classy boundaries, Bhuvneshwar Kumar silenced him with a well-directed short ball, caught smartly by Tim David at mid-off. Shreyas Iyer now joins Priyansh Arya at the crease, and with a modest target on the board, RCB will want a few more quick wickets to stay in the hunt.

Game still wide open – can Tim David’s late surge inspire RCB to pull off a heist?

Prabhsimran c Tim David b Bhuvneshwar 13(9) [4s-2]

PBKS 12/0 after 2 overs – Edgy but Effective

slightly nervy over from Yash Dayal with an edge flying past slip and a wide down leg. Priyansh Arya is riding his luck but keeping the scoreboard ticking. RCB still hunting that breakthrough to claw back after Tim David's heroics earlier.

PBKS 3/0 after 1 over – Steady Start in the Chase

A tidy first over from Bhuvneshwar Kumar — just 3 runs off it with a hint of movement and a missed run-out chance. Prabhsimran and Priyansh Arya are still settling in. No early fireworks yet, but pressure builds as RCB looks for early breakthroughs.

RCB 92/9 after 14 overs – Tim David's Late Power Surge

Tim David powers three consecutive sixes off Harpreet Brar, taking his score to 48 from 25 balls. Though RCB is nine down, David is providing a late burst of hope with his aggressive hitting. The final over will be crucial for any potential resistance.

RCB 74/9 after 13 overs – Tim David's Resilience

Tim David continues his valiant fight, scoring a quick 11 runs off Bartlett's over, including two boundaries. With just Josh Hazlewood left, RCB’s hopes rest on David to avoid a complete collapse.

RCB 63/9 after 12 overs – Collapse Continues

Harpreet Brar has taken two crucial wickets in quick succession, with Bhuvneshwar Kumar caught at long-off and Yash Dayal dismissed LBW. RCB is now staring at a complete collapse, with only Tim David left to fight for them.
Yash Dayal lbw b Harpreet Brar 0(1)

Bhuvneshwar c Bartlett b Harpreet Brar 8(13) [4s-1]

RCB 59/7 after 11 overs – Tim David keeping RCB's hopes alive

Tim David has found some momentum, hitting a couple of boundaries, including a late cut for four. Bhuvneshwar Kumar is hanging in there, and they will need more big shots to give RCB a competitive total. Arshdeep Singh has been decent with the ball, but the pressure remains on RCB.

RCB 47/7 after 10 overs – Chahal wraps up his spell

Yuzvendra Chahal finishes with impressive figures of 3/11, having bowled a tight spell to continue the collapse of RCB’s innings. Tim David and Bhuvneshwar Kumar are still at the crease, but with only three wickets remaining, RCB's chances of a competitive total look slim.

RCB 43/7 after 8.2 overs – Another blow as Bhandage departs!

Marco Jansen continues his fine spell, removing Manoj Bhandage for 1 with an LBW decision. The ball straightened just enough to beat the inside edge and clip the outside of leg-stump, and despite Bhandage's review, it was umpire's call, and he had to walk back.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has now come in, joining Tim David, but RCB’s collapse continues. With seven wickets down, the pressure is mounting, and it's unclear how much longer RCB can survive in this match.

Bhandage lbw b Marco Jansen 1(4)

RCB 42/6 after 8 overs – Another wicket falls as Patidar departs!

Yuzvendra Chahal strikes again, dismissing Rajat Patidar for 23. Patidar attempted an inside-out shot over cover but ended up hitting it straight to Bartlett at long-off. With the loss of Patidar, RCB are now in deep trouble at 42/6.

Manoj Bhandage, making his IPL debut as a super sub, has joined Tim David at the crease, with RCB in dire need of some stability. The team is struggling to avoid a collapse, and the question now is whether they can reach the 14-over mark without being bowled out.

Rajat Patidar c Bartlett b Chahal 23(18) [4s-1 6s-1]

RCB 39/5 after 7 overs – Another setback as Krunal Pandya departs!

Marco Jansen has struck again, dismissing Krunal Pandya for just 1. A sharp bouncer caught Pandya in a tangle, with the ball top-edging off his helmet and lobbing back to Jansen for an easy caught-and-bowled. RCB have now lost 5 wickets, with Tim David and Rajat Patidar at the crease trying to stabilize things.

With 33/4 being the lowest score for RCB in the first six overs this season, they’re in real trouble, and the pressure is mounting as the batting collapse continues.

Krunal Pandya c and b Marco Jansen 1(2)

RCB 33/4 after 6 overs – Chahal strikes!

Yuzvendra Chahal has made an immediate impact, taking the crucial wicket of Jitesh Sharma, who tried to sweep a wrong 'un but found the fielder at deep backward square leg. Sharma departs for just 2 off 7 balls, further deepening RCB's batting woes.

Krunal Pandya has joined Rajat Patidar at the crease, but the pressure is mounting with RCB in a difficult position. The scoring rate has slowed down, and they need to rebuild quickly to avoid a collapse.

RCB 29/3 after 5 overs – Jansen keeps the pressure on!

Marco Jansen has started his spell with some tight bowling, keeping the RCB batters on the back foot. Jitesh Sharma, struggling to find his timing, has been beaten on the outside edge twice, while Patidar has managed to scrape together just a few singles.

Patidar has been looking solid, but Jansen’s pace and accuracy are making runs hard to come by. With just 3 runs coming off the over, RCB will be desperate for some boundaries to ease the pressure.

RCB 26/3 after 4 overs – Bartlett strikes again!

Xavier Bartlett continues to make inroads for DC as he removes Liam Livingstone for 4. Livingstone charged down the track but mistimed his shot, resulting in a top-edge that was easily caught by Priyansh Arya at cover. It’s another disappointing failure for Livingstone, who was looking to accelerate.

Earlier in the over, Livingstone managed a well-timed four, steering Bartlett past backward point, but it wasn’t enough to stop Bartlett's momentum.

RCB are in deep trouble, with Patidar the only recognized batter remaining at the crease. The pressure is mounting, and Jitesh Sharma will need to contribute quickly if RCB is to recover.

Livingstone c Priyansh Arya b Bartlett 4(6) [4s-1]

RCB 21/2 after 3 overs – Arshdeep rocks the top order!
Arshdeep Singh is on fire! After dismissing Salt in the first over, he returns to send Virat Kohli back with a sharp short ball that forced a mistimed pull. Marco Jansen judged it brilliantly in the deep, diving to complete a fine catch. Kohli walks back for just 1.

Liam Livingstone was tested immediately with movement and tight lines, surviving the over without opening his account. Just 2 runs came off it, and Arshdeep now has sensational figures of 2-0-11-2.

RCB is under pressure early, with both openers gone. Patidar holds the key now as the innings rebuilds.

Kohli c Marco Jansen b Arshdeep Singh 1(3)

RCB 19/1 after 2 overs – Patidar starts to shift gears!
Rajat Patidar has begun to find his rhythm, taking on Xavier Bartlett in his first over. After three tight dots, Patidar unleashed a graceful flick for six over mid-wicket and followed it with a lofted two over mid-on.

The outfield held him back from a boundary, but 10 runs came off the over nonetheless. Kohli is yet to face a ball, while Patidar looks in fine touch on 15 off 8.

RCB recovering well after the early blow — DC need to keep the pressure on before this pair settles in too deep.

RCB 9/1 after 1 over – Arshdeep strikes early!

Arshdeep Singh delivers a fiery first over, removing the dangerous Phil Salt for just 4. The delivery wasn’t short enough to pull, but Salt went for it anyway, only managing a top edge that was safely pouched by Josh Inglis.

Rajat Patidar walked in at No. 3 and got going quickly with a stylish flick for four followed by a single to retain strike. Arshdeep finishes with 9 runs off the over but draws first blood for DC.

RCB has lost an early wicket, but with Kohli yet to face a ball and Patidar settling in, this could still go either way.

Phil Salt c Josh Inglis b Arshdeep Singh 4(4) [4s-1]

Rajat Patidar - We have to be smart in adapting to the conditions, we'll try our best. A bit sticky, but the surface looks hard, we will put up a good total on the board. Same team, but I'm confused with the impact player

Shreyas Iyer - We will bowl first. It's a good ground to chase and it's a rain interrupted game, overs have been reduced, will have a fair idea of how the wickert will play and that was always the pln. Stoinis comes in for Maxwell and Harpreet Brar is in. We need to have the right players at the right place, especially the angles.

Punjab Kings have won the toss and have opted to field

The official inspection is underway, with the on-field umpires engaged in an extended discussion with the head curator. Meanwhile, both teams remain on the field, going through their warm-up routines as we await further updates. According to confirmation from Star Sports, the official broadcaster, the toss is scheduled for 9:30 PM, with the match set to begin at 9:45 PM.

Sounds like things are moving along nicely! Looks like the ground staff is confident we’re getting play soon. With the covers off and the hessian being rolled away, we’re definitely on track. Seeing the roller out there is always a good sign too—it usually means they’re just putting the final touches on the surface.

Once we get the toss and playing conditions, we’ll have a clearer idea of the format (overs lost, any revised rules, etc.). Fingers crossed for a full game or at least a decent chunk of cricket. Who are you backing today?

Bharath: Over the past few days, its been raining for 2 to 3 hours in the night here. So, expect the match to happen but with reduced overs

slight drizzle, but signs of hope

Kaushik shares a positive update: groundstaff in raincoats are waiting near the boundary as only a light drizzle falls. Even better—umpires have now stepped out, joined by a few groundstaff.

The toss was scheduled by now, but steady rain continues to delay proceedings. Fortunately, there's still ample buffer time before any overs are lost.

Toss delayed due to rain

Josh Hazlewood

Three of our quick bowlers, they are a little bit different. No matter who takes the new ball, we have got a role to play. They are great swing bowlers upfront. They are wicket-takers and I try to do my thing. Powerplay has been the best part for us with the ball so far. It's going to interesting, it's raining at the moment. I know the outfield dries quickly here, so as soon as the rain stops, we can get on the field quickly. In a couple of games here, it's been a great learning curve for us. Some guys have played a lot of cricket here, some haven't played as much. We are always learning on the go. Got to hit the good length, hit the top of stump. Need to go full and swing the ball in the powerplay.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Injury & Availability: No injury/availability concerns to report

Tactics & Matchups: Maxwell has had a troubled start to the season but a game against a former team in familiar climes may have come at the right time as he strives to rediscover his mojo. That said, he will come up against Krunal Pandya, a bowler who had dismissed him five times in the IPL. Krunal in fact has also managed to keep Shreyas Iyer (88.89 SR) and Marcus Stoinis (110.71 SR) quiet previously.

Probable XII: Phil Salt, Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal, Suyash Sharma

Punjab Kings

Injury & Availability: Lockie Ferguson is unlikely to play a part in the remainder of IPL 2025 after picking up a suspected hip injury in the SRH game.

Tactics & Matchups: Yuzvendra Chahal isn't just the IPL's leading wicket-taker; he's Chinnaswamy's old puppet master, and on evidence of the KKR game, the strings are still in his hands. No bowler has more T20 wickets at this venue. Sixteen of his 24 IPL scalps since 2024 have been right-handers. With RCB stacking six of them in their top eight and with some promise of grip from the surface, Chahal won't need a second invitation to spin a web.

Probable XII: Priyansh Arya, Prabhsimran Singh, Shreyas Iyer (c), Nehal Wadhera, Josh Inglis (wk)/Marcus Stoinis, Glenn Maxwell, Shashank Singh, Marco Jansen, Xavier Bartlett, Yuzvendra Chahal, Arshdeep Singh, Vijaykumar Vyshak/Yash Thakur
