Mumbai Indians are one of the most successful franchise in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are the first team to have won the title as many as five times – 2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, and 2020. In addition, they also triumphed in the now-defunct Champions League T20 twice – in 2011 and 2013.

Mumbai Indians (MI), owned by Indiawin Sports Private Limited (a subsidiary of Reliance Industries), are the most successful franchise in Indian Premier League (IPL) history. Since the league's inception in 2008, they have won five titles (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020) and the Champions League T20 twice (2011, 2013).
After early struggles, their fortunes transformed in 2013 under new captain Rohit Sharma, beginning an era of dominance. They are the one of the two team to win consecutive IPL championships (2019 & 2020). However, recent seasons have been inconsistent: 5th in 2021, last (10th) in 2022, 4th and playoff qualifiers in 2023 (losing in Qualifier 2), and last again in 2024.
The 2024 season saw a major leadership change, with Hardik Pandya returning as captain. Under him and coach Mark Boucher, MI rebounded in 2025, finishing 4th, winning the Eliminator, but falling in Qualifier 2 .
Financially, MI remains a powerhouse. Its brand value was estimated at 119 million in 2024 . For 2025, Brand Finance values it at 108 million (ranking first) , though other reports suggest a higher figure . The franchise was the first IPL team to cross the $100 million brand value mark.
