Angelo Mathews is a Sri Lankan cricketer born on 2nd June 1987 in Colombo. He made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2009 and his ODI debut against Zimbabwe in 2008. Mathews has been a key player for Sri Lanka, scoring over 3000 runs and taking 100 wickets in ODI cricket. He has won several awards, including the 2015 Wisden Cricketer of the Year and the Sri Lanka Cricket Cricketer of the Year in 2015. Mathews is married to Heshanie Silva and has one son and one daughter. He announced his retirement from international cricket in July 2021.

RECORDS OF ANGELO MATHEWS

Angelo Mathews is one of the most successful and decorated cricketers in the world. Some of his achievements include:

In November 2010, Mathews along with Lasith Malinga recorded the highest ninth himself scoring 77 not out.
The Sri Lankan team recorded the most wins in ODI in 2014 under Mathew’s leadership. They won 20 out of total 32 matches, with a winning percentage of 62.50.
While playing the last pool match of the 2015 ICC World Cup against Scotland in March 2015, he scored a half-century off just 20 balls, thus becoming the only Sri Lankan to do so in any of the World Cups.
After taking his 100th ODI wicket in July 2015, he became only the fourth Sri Lankan all-rounder to do so with more than 3000 runs to his name.
