Yashasvi Jaiswal Admitted to Hospital After Stomach Pain in SMAT Match

Though all the attention of Tuesday was focused on the IPL 2026 auction in Abu Dhabi, when Jaiswal was rush to the hospital, tensions erupted around the opening batsman of the Indian cricket team, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Under Medical Care After Experiencing Stomach Pain During SMAT Game

Jaiswal allegedly suffered from acute stomach pain soon after the match and was rushed to the Aditya Birla Hospital in Pimpri-Chinchwad for check-ups. The doctor found him to be suffering from acute gastroenteritis, after which the 23-year-old suffered intravenous injections. Ultrasound and CT scans followed, after which Jaiswal now takes complete rest due to the illness, aside from taking his medications.

Contrary to his condition, Jaiswal had played and opened the innings for Mumbai. However, he seemed to have troubled his back during his brief innings, where he scored 15 runs off 16 deliveries as Mumbai overhauled a stiff target of 217 runs.

The match was quite an exciting one, where Ajinkya Rahane remained undefeated with 72 runs and Sarfaraz Khan hammered an unbeaten 73 off 22 deliveries, leading Mumbai to a three-wicket victory although Mumbai was eliminated from the tournament subsequently for an inferior Net Run Rate. This was the last league match for the two-time champion Mumbai.

Reports say Jaiswal has been suffering from stomach cramps during his match, with his condition deteriorating in the aftermath, requiring urgent medical care. There has been no confirmation on his condition from the BCCI as yet, but this should come out in the open in the current day.

He scored 145 runs in third SMAT matches with a strike rate of 168.6. He scored a breathtaking ton to help Mumbai hunted down 235 runs against Haryana. This was followed by impressive performances in the ODI series against South Africa, where he scored 156 runs in three matches, marking his first ODI century. Since there would be no prior international engagement and would not be included in India’s T20I squad, Jaiswal should have some adequate time to recover from his injury.
