[ Poll: XZWv3nLA ]

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2026 mega auction will be held on November 26 and 27. With the dates now confirmed, everyone’s attention turns to the teams as they get ready to announce which players they will keep and which ones they will release.

Notably, according to retention rules, each franchise will be allowed to retain a maximum of five players, of which a maximum of three Indian capped players are allowed, followed by two overseas players or two uncapped Indian players. In case a franchise decides to use all five retain slots, it is mandatory to have an uncapped player and they will also not have any Right to Match option (RTM) in the auction.

Each team can keep a maximum of five players:

  • Up to 3 Indian capped players, and

  • Up to 2 overseas or 2 uncapped Indian players.
If a team keeps five players, one must be uncapped, and they can’t use the Right to Match (RTM) card in the auction.
