Sophie Devine Bio

Sophie Devine is a double international, meaning she has represented New Zealand in both cricket and field hockey. Her aim while growing was to represent the All Blacks, New Zealand’s rugby team, but cricket and hockey took precedence during her stint in Tawa college, where she used to play along with the boys. From a bowler who sometimes batted at No. 11, Sophie Devine developed into one of the leading all-rounders and most destructive batters in the game. In early 2020 she became the first player, male or female,to score five consecutive T20I fifty-plus scores – a run she extended to six in a row at the beginning of the 2020 T20 World Cup in which she also captained New Zealand.
