WPL 2025 Points Table: Latest Standings After Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants Match

WPL 2025 Points Table: Latest Standings After Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Giants MatchRoyal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) faced its third straight loss at home in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025, losing to Gujarat Giants (GG) by six wickets at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday. GG captain Ashleigh Gardner led from the front with a quick 58 off 31 balls. She was caught and bowled by fellow Australian Georgia Wareham, but by then, the game was almost won.

Defending a low total of 126, Smriti Mandhana used up all of Renuka Singh’s overs in the first seven. The fast bowler dismissed openers Dayalan Hemalatha (11 off 15) and Beth Mooney (17 off 20), before Wareham took her first wicket by getting Harleen Deol out for five.

Gardner and Phoebe Litchfield (30 not out off 21 balls) built a crucial 51-run partnership for the fourth wicket, keeping Gujarat Giants on track for victory. While they mostly relied on quick singles, Gardner attacked young leg-spinner Prema Rawat, scoring 18 runs in the ninth over.

After being put in to bat by GG, RCB managed only 26 runs in the PowerPlay—the lowest by any team this season. Danni Wyatt-Hodge (4 off 4 balls) fell in the first over to Deandra Dottin, while Gardner dismissed Ellyse Perry for a duck. Smriti Mandhana (10 off 20 balls) struggled to score quickly, especially against Kashvee Gautam, who bowled 10 dot balls to her before she was caught by Harleen at deep mid-wicket off Tanuja Kanwer (2/16). Though their star batter was out, the nearly 24,000-strong Chinnaswamy crowd found new heroes in Raghvi Bist and Kanika Ahuja.

Raghvi Bist (22 off 19 balls) and Kanika Ahuja (33 off 28 balls) put together a 48-run stand for the fourth wicket. However, Richa Ghosh (9 off 10 balls) was undone by Kashvee Gautam’s yorker in the 16th over. Australia’s Kim Garth and Georgia Wareham added a late 23-run partnership, but RCB’s total of 125 was always going to be hard to defend.
