Laila Faisal, who is rumoured to be dating cricketer Abhishek Sharma, was seen attending his sister Komal Sharma’s pre-wedding celebrations. She even shared a few photos from the event on her Instagram.

Her presence at the family function has once again sparked talk among fans about her relationship with India’s rising batting star, Abhishek Sharma. For those who don’t know, Laila is a fashion entrepreneur from Delhi and the founder of Roohi Faisal Designs.

She studied in the UK and earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from King’s College, London. After coming back to India, she did some modelling work for different brands. She now has 65.4K followers on Instagram. Abhishek, who missed her sister's wedding on October 3 to play for India A versus Australia A, has not confirmed that he is dating Laila. However, it shouldn't come as a surprise if the announcement comes anytime soon.

Abhishek may have been dismissed for a golden duck against Australia A, but overall, things are going great for him in his cricket career. In the recently concluded Asia Cup, he was in terrific form, scoring 314 runs in seven innings with an average of 44.86 and a strike rate of 200. The Punjab batter also became the top run-scorer in a single edition of the T20 Asia Cup.

Abhishek’s strong batting helped India win the Asia Cup for a record ninth time. It was also their second title in the T20 format. Throughout the tournament, Abhishek gave India fast starts in almost every match and got out for a low score only in the final. Suryakumar Yadav-led India won seven matches, remaining unbeaten in the competition. They defeated arch-rivals Pakistan in the final by five wickets in Dubai.

Coming back to Abhishek, the opener is likely to be considered for India’s ODI squad for the upcoming tour of Australia later this month. Team India will play three ODIs in Perth, Adelaide, and Sydney.
