Who is Himanshu Sangwan? The Fast Bowler Who Dismissed Virat Kohli in His Ranji Trophy Comeback

Who is Himanshu SangwanHimanshu Sangwan is a vеry good fast bowler for the Railways cricket team. He was born on September 2, 1995, in Najafgarh, Dеlhi. He has really shown his mettle in domеstic cricket. He used to be a tickеt collector at New Delhi Railway Station before his cricket career.

He made his List A debut as early as 2019 during the Vijay Hazare Trophy, and his T20 debut was in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. He also made his first-class debut in the Ranji Trophy in the same year. An accurate bowler, he has been known to trouble top-order batters and has emerged as a game-changer in domestic cricket.

In first-class cricket, he has played 23 matches and has taken 77 wickets at an average of 19.92 with an economy rate of 3.02. His best figures are 7 for 81. He has 21 wickets in 17 List A matches and has got 5 wickets in 7 T20 matches.

At the MRF Pace Foundation, his bowling skills were sharpened by Australian great Glenn McGrath, under his guidance. He got his chance in 2019, and his best performance was when he took six wickets, which helped Railways beat Mumbai by 10 wickets. His scalps included some of the best Indian players, Virat Kohli, Ajinkya Rahane, and Prithvi Shaw.

Virat Kohli, who had waited for over a decade to make a comеback into the Ranji Trophy, failed to do justice to his comeback as hе got dismissed for a mere 6 off 15 balls. He was clean bowled by Himanshu Sangwan of Delhi, who had knocked over his off stump. Sangwan, who was quite fired up after taking the big wicket, celebrated aggressively. Just before his dismissal, Kohli had struck the bowler for a four down the ground, but Sangwan bounced back in style. Howеver, his intense celebration didn’t sit well with Kohli’s fans, who criticized him heavily on social media.
