WATCH: Nitish Kumar Reddy Climbs Tirupati Temple Stairs on Knees After Iconic Australia Series

Nitish Kumar Reddy Climbs Tirupati Temple Stairs on Knees After Iconic Australia Series

Nitish Kumar Reddy, a young talent in Indian cricket, really showed what he could do in the latest five match test series against Australia. A 21 year old man from Andhra Pradesh was in all five tests of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Reddy scored a total of 298 runs in the series, even hitting a century, which made him the second top runs for India in the series. Not simply with the bat, Reddy also did his bit with the ball by taking five wickets in the series. And in the first innings of the last match at Sydney Cricket Ground, he took two wickets were important.

Reddy came back to India from his trip to Australia last week. He visited the famous Tirupati Temple on Monday and did something really special there. He climbed up the temple stairs on his knees and posted a video of it on Instagram stories. People from all over like it a lot.

Reddy started playing for the Test team in Perth on November 22 and showed everyone how good he was by scoring the most runs for India in his first time at bat. He played better in the next game with a pink ball in Adelaide Oval, hiting the score chart for India in both innings at bat. The moment everyone will remember was during the Boxing Day Test.

That's when Reddy, playing at spot No. 8, scored an amazing century, clearly showing he could stay calm and play well in the game when the team needed him the most. To share his thoughts about how well the series went, Reddy made a deep and emotional post on Instagram the following Monday.

"The past two months have been amazing, I’ve grown a lot, both in my mindset and personally. It all started with me setting alarms to catch the test matches in Australia, and then I truly was able to go to the Australian shores and experience everything firsthand. Ending the series wasn't what we had in mind but we're going to recover significantly tougher and stronger", he mentioned.

In the summer, Reddy got his first call up to play for the Indian team in a T20I series against Zimbabwe all because of amazing he played at the IPL 2024 for Sunrisers Hyderabad. They almost won the entire thing and Reddy was a important factor in making that happen. But then, he got hurt and couldn't go to Zimbabwe. His dream of playing Test cricket for India seriously sounds as though it came from an exciting story.

On October 6, 2024, in Gwalior, he finally got to play his first game for the international team during a T20I against Bangladesh. Reddy demonstrated his abilities in the series' second game, hitting a remarkable 74 runs from just 34 balls when he batted as No. 4 in Delhi. Also, he took two wickets, proving he's not only good at batting but also good at bowling the ball.

Reddy will be playing again soon in the five match T20I series against England. It starts on January 22 in Kolkata. People are really watching him since he's been playing very good at international cricket.
