T20 World Cup 2026: ICC Assures Full Refund if Semi-Final or Final Venue Is Shifted

India and Sri Lanka are hosting the T20 World Cup 2026 together. This could be hard to manage because matches are happening in two countries, but the International Cricket Council is handling it well so far. On Tuesday, the tickets for the semis and final went on sale, which are to be hosted by Kolkata, and Mumbai, and Ahmedabad.

If Pakistan reach the semi-finals or final, the match venues will be moved to Colombo. But fans will not lose their money. The International Cricket Council has assured that if this happens, everyone who booked tickets will get a full refund.

Similarly, if Sri Lanka reached the semis/ final, and play any other team that India, the venue will be changed to Colombo. Meanwhile, for now, Pakistan’s chances of reaching the semis, look rather slim. After a washout in their first Super 8 match, they lost the second encounter vs England. Now, they must win their last match against Sri Lanka, and hope other results go in their favour, and then the NRR will come into play as well.

As for India national cricket team, they need to win both their remaining matches, and that should be enough to qualify. However, they also need to improve their net run rate (NRR).

There are some concerns with the batting line-up that must be fixed quickly. The team has too many left-handers, and they seem to be struggling against off-spinners. India face Zimbabwe in a must-win contest in Chennai, on Feb 26 at 7 PM IST. The wicket there could just be conducive to spin bowling once again, which might propel the management to rethink their strategy.
