South Africa vs Pakistan Boxing Day Test Preview: Check the Squad, Where to watch and more

South Africa and Pakistan are all set to play their final series for the World Test Championship 2023-25 cycle. With South Africa needing one test win to secure the final ticket, it will be interesting to see whether Pakistan will stop the South Africa chariot, as they showed what they are capable of after doing a clean sweep against South Africa in the recent ODI series.

This will be another Boxing Day Test in the cricketing world alongside India vs Australia at MCG. The match between Pakistan and South Africa will be played at SuperSport Park in Centurion. The teams will play the second match in Cape Town on January 3, 2025.

Player to Watch Out For

On the Pakistani side, the most watched player is Sain Ayub, who recently scored a consecutive hundred in the recent ODI series. Eyes will also be on Mohammad Abbas, who is returning after over three years. Khurram Shahzad will also join the team after missing the series against England.

From South Africa’s point of view, they would need just one win in the series to secure their spot in the WTC Finals for the first time. The team is coming with a five-match-winning streak.

Pakistan’s Record In South Africa

Pakistan's record is not good in South Africa as the team has lost most of the matches they played in South Africa, losing 12 out of 15 matches, including the Boxing Day appearances in 2002 and 2018. The team won only two test matches in South Africa
