Siraj and Travis Head Unlikely to Face Suspension After Adelaide Incident: Reports

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj and batter Travis Head could get warnings and fines after their argument during the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Adelaide. Reports from Australia say they won’t be suspended despite breaking the ICC’s rules. Their clean records worked in their favor, according to Code Sports.

The tension started when Siraj dismissed Head for 140 runs after being hit for a six earlier. Siraj bowled a brilliant yorker to knock down the stumps and gave Head a fiery send-off. As Head walked back, the two exchanged words. Interestingly, none of the Indian players praised Head for his great innings.

The Adelaide Oval crowd, fully supporting their local hero Travis Head, booed Mohammed Siraj loudly after the heated exchange. To avoid further trouble, Siraj was moved from the boundary area to the inner field following the incident.

Speaking about what happened, Head shared his disappointment, saying he had only told Siraj, "well bowled," but it was taken the wrong way. Siraj, on the other hand, accused Head of lying and admitted both of them let their emotions get the better of them during the moment.

All Eyes on Brisbane: Series Locked at 1-1

Despite the heated moments, Siraj and Head patched things up after the match. The two players hugged and agreed to move past the incident for the rest of the series. Head later confirmed this, saying they cleared up the misunderstanding and decided to focus on the games ahead.

“It's all good now. He came up and said it was just a misunderstanding. We’ve had a great week, so let’s not let it spoil things,” said Head, who earned the Player of the Match award for his outstanding century. He also admitted to swearing during the exchange but explained it was only after things escalated.

Meanwhile, Siraj was involved in another tense moment during the game. Frustrated, he threw the ball at the stumps after Marnus Labuschagne pulled out of his batting stance. The delay was caused by a “beer snake” distraction in the crowd, but Siraj, unaware of the reason, misread the situation and showed his frustration.

With the series tied at 1-1, all eyes are now on the third Test, which begins on December 14 in Brisbane.
