Shreyas Iyer Injury Update: PBKS Star Cleared for CSK Match

The PBKS vs GT match was very exciting. GT scored 162 runs, and while chasing, Punjab did face some trouble because of good bowling and a tricky pitch. But in the end, PBKS managed to win the match by a small margin. It was a three-wicket win in the end.

More than the batting, the big worry for the team was Shreyas Iyer’s injury. During the match, while batting with Cooper Connolly, Iyer was hit hard by a powerful shot from the Australian all-rounder. The impact was serious enough that he needed immediate medical attention on the field.

Shreyas Iyer Injury Scare but Cleared for CSK Clash

In fact, after the match, he was seen wearing a bandage on the affected area. But as per PBKS assistant coach Brad Haddin, all is well with Shreyas Iyer. There is reportedly no fracture, and he is available for selection as well in the next match vs CSK on Friday, April 3. Meanwhile, Iyer himself had spoken about the injury after the match.

He had said, “All I can say about the hand is that it is nice, same as it was before, I do not want to jinx anything.”

If everything goes well, Punjab Kings are likely to play the same XI against Chennai Super Kings. Even though the middle order struggled against Gujarat Titans, Punjab still have one of the strongest squads in the tournament. In fact, they have replacements for all players possible. It would be interesting to see how Iyer shapes up eventually; if in case he is not available, Musheer Khan could come in as replacement.
