Sai Sudharsan Injury Update: BCCI Confirms It’s Not Serious, Youngster Expected to Be Fit Soon

Sai Sudharsan didn’t come out to field for India on Day 3 of the second Test against the West Indies. The BCCI later shared an update, saying that he hurt his hand while taking a catch on Day 2.
Fielding at short leg, Sudharsan pulled off a brilliant catch after John Campbell’s powerful shot hit his hand. The BCCI mentioned that the medical team is keeping an eye on him, but thankfully, the injury isn’t serious.
"Sai Sudharsan had an impact injury on Day 2 while attempting a catch. He has not taken the field today as a precautionary measure. The injury is not serious, and he is doing fine. He continues to be monitored by the BCCI Medical Team," said BCCI.
Will India Need to Bat Again in This Test?
Sai Sudharsan played a solid knock in the first innings, scoring a valuable 87 runs. Shubman Gill remained unbeaten on 129, while Yashasvi Jaiswal added a fine 175 as India declared their innings at 518 for 5. The West Indies batters showed more fight in the second Test, but India’s bowlers were still a step ahead, reducing them to 162 for 5 at the time of writing.
It looks unlikely that India will need to bat again in this Test, as the West Indies have a huge task ahead to make that happen. But if the situation does come where India need to bat once more, Sudharsan should be ready to step up and play his part for the team.
