Sahibzada Farhan goes past Kohli to score the most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition

Besides topping the run-scoring charts this T20 World Cup edition, Sahibzada Farhan now also holds the record for the most runs in a single T20 World Cup tournament. He went past Virat Kohli, who had amassed 319 runs in the 2013-14 edition of the tournament.

Two centuries in one World Cup edition

Farhan has scored 383 runs in six innings, averaging 95.75 with a strike rate of 160.92. In doing so, he has become only the second Pakistani to score more than 300 runs in a T20 World Cup, after Babar Azam, who scored 303 runs in six innings during the 2021 T20 World Cup.

With his century against Sri Lanka in a must-win game, Farhan became the only batter to score two centuries in a T20 World Cup, with the other coming against Namibia last week.

Sahibzada Farhan has been one of the few bright spots for Pakistan this season, carrying the batting line-up in almost every game so far. Against Sri Lanka, he paired with Fakhar Zaman to stitch together a 176-run partnership, the highest for the opening wicket for Pakistan in the T20 World Cups. 

They went past the match-winning partnership of 152 between Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan against India in the 2021 World Cup.
