RCB Breaks 3-Month Silence: Emotional Post on Bengaluru Parade Tragedy

Almost two and a half months after the Bengaluru stampede, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) shared an emotional message for their fans, ending their silence on social media. On Thursday, through platform X, the team posted a heartfelt note and also announced a new initiative called ‘RCB CARES’, which has been started in response to the tragedy.
"Dear 12th Man Army, this is our heartfelt letter to you! It's been close to three months since we last posted here. The Silence wasn’t Absence. It was Grief. This space was once filled with energy, memories and moments that you enjoyed the most.. But June 4th changed everything. That day broke our hearts, and the silence since then has been our way of holding space," RCB said in its post.

The franchise told the fans that they are starting ‘RCB CARES’ as a way to take real steps to support, honour, and stand with the fans while helping them heal.
The franchise informed the fans that 'RCB CARES' is being introduced as a platform for meaningful action to honour, heal and stand beside fans. "In that silence, we've been grieving. Listening. Learning. And slowly, we've begun to build something more than just a response. Something we truly believe in. That's how RCB CARES came to life. It grew out of a need to honour, to heal, and to stand beside our fans. A platform for meaningful action shaped by our community & fans," it said.
RCB Responds After Bengaluru Parade Tragedy
"We return to this space today, not with celebration but with care. To share. To stand with you. To walk forward, together. To continue being the pride of Karnataka. RCB CARES. And we always will. More details soon…" it concluded.
On June 4, a tragic stampede took place at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru during RCB’s victory parade. Confusion over free passes, limited seating, and heavy crowds led to the incident, leaving at least 11 people dead and more than 50 injured. The chaos broke out when many cricket fans without tickets tried to push their way inside along with those who had valid passes. In the rush, some people fell to the ground, while others got hurt while climbing the tall gates to enter the stadium.
This came after Royal Challengers Bengaluru celebrated their first-ever IPL trophy win this year.
