Ravichandran Ashwin Exposes Fake Adam Zampa Trying to Steal Indian Cricketers’ Contacts

Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin recently exposed a fraudster pretending to be Australian cricketer Adam Zampa, who was trying to get phone numbers of Indian players. Ashwin, known for his long career in the IPL and international cricket, has connections with many cricketers worldwide, and this was not the first time someone tried to trick him to get other players’ contact details.

Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin found himself in a funny situation when a fraudster pretending to be Australian cricketer Adam Zampa contacted him on WhatsApp, asking for phone numbers of other players. Ashwin shared screenshots of the chat on Instagram with the caption, “Fake Adam Zampa tries to strike.”

The person pretending to be Adam Zampa asked Ashwin for the contact numbers of players like Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dube. Ashwin jokingly said he would send them soon. Then, he turned the tables by asking for MS Dhoni’s number. The fake Zampa replied that he already had it, to which Ashwin cleverly asked him to share it instead.

This wasn’t the first time Ashwin had to deal with an online impostor. He shared that a similar thing happened earlier when someone pretended to be his former Chennai Super Kings teammate, Devon Conway. The fake Conway started the chat by saying, “Hi buddy, how are you?” Ashwin replied politely, saying they would stay in touch and that he’d watch his MLC games. But when the impostor asked for Virat Kohli’s phone number, Ashwin immediately realized something was wrong.

Ravichandran Ashwin stood up for pacer Harshit Rana after earlier questioning his selection for the ODI series against Australia. He said players should not face personal attacks, as it can hurt them and their families. Harshit got support from coach Gautam Gambhir too but was trolled after scoring just 1 run and taking no wickets in the first match. Ashwin said it’s fine to criticize a player’s game but not to make it personal.
