Rachin Ravindra Injury Update: New Zealand Cricket Provides Major Update After His Serious Head Injury
In the first match of the Tri-Nation Series between Pakistan and New Zealand, a New Zealand player suffered a nasty injury at the newly renovated Gaddafi Stadium. The star New Zealand all-rounder Rachin Ravindra got badly hurt on his forehead.
During the 37th over, Rachin was fielding at deep square leg, when Khushdil Shah played a shot, he tried to take the catch but the stadium lights seemed to blind him. Due to this, the ball hit hard on his forehead.
He dropped to his knees and was staring at the ground. Blood started flowing down his face. The New Zealand medical team quickly ran onto the field after seeing how badly he was injured. All the fans became silent in the stadium after seeing Rachin bleed on the field.

The New Zealand medical team bought the stretcher in, though it wasn't needed later. The medical staff treated him while he was lying on the ground. After some time, he got up with their help and walked off the field with a towel covering his head.
Rachin Ravindra Injury Update
New Zealand Cricket mentioned, “Ravindra was forced from the field after being struck in the forehead by the ball attempting a catch in the 38th over,”
“He sustained a laceration to the forehead which has been addressed and treated at the ground, but is otherwise well. He came through his first HIA (Head Injury Assessment) well and will continue to be monitored under HIA processes.”
Rachin Ravindra is also in the New Zealand squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, which will kick off on February 19.
