Punjab Kings Dominate Mumbai Indians to Stay Unbeaten in IPL 2026

Punjab Kings are playing very well in IPL 2026. They beat Mumbai Indians easily and moved to the top of the points table. They chased 196 runs and won by 7 wickets, with 21 balls left. Of course, they are the only undefeated side in the competition. But what might be send the alarm bells ringing for the other teams is that they seem to be getting better with every game. Tonight, Arshdeep Singh finally found his rhythm. He started his work in tidy fashion, giving away merely a single in the first over.

Then, dismissed Ryan Rickelton and Suryakumar Yadav off consecutive balls to further peg the home team back. Later, he also accounted for the big wicket of Sherfane Rutherford and finished with 3/22 against his name. More importantly, he only bowled a single wide in this game. While, the start was iffy, MI recovered beautifully. Quinton de Kock led the way. Playing for this team after 4 years, 6 months and 15 days, the southpaw batted as if he had a point to prove. The bat swing was vigorous and the ball-striking as crisp as his reputation.

Yet, PBKS pulled it back in the death overs, giving away only 35 runs in the last 4. With the dew setting in, 196 was never going to be enough. It started to feel more like that when the PBKS openers scored 21 runs off the opening over of the chase. But Ghazanfar ignited the flames of hope by dismissing Priyansh Arya with his second ball and then Cooper Connolly in the next over.

However, Prabhsimran Singh kept going. The opener married his usual exuberance with some maturity tonight. He was discerning in his judgement of the balls that he chose to attack and ensured that he stayed right till the end to help his team get over the line, finishing with 80* (39) against his name.
