Prithvi Shaw Hits Back After Continuous Criticism, ‘Don’t speak…’ in his Instagram Story

The 25-year-old opener from Mumbai replied to his continuous criticism through Instagram stories. Prithvi Shaw has been constantly criticised after his bad performance in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The matter got into the limelight when questions were raised about his discipline, lousy behaviour, poor fitness, and attitude by the senior players and management.

After continuous criticism, Shaw posted multiple Instagram stories, in one he wrote,

“If you don't understand it fully, don't speak on it. Too many people have full opinions, with half the facts.”

Shaw has also posted an Instagram story sharing a screenshot of his list A career performance with words.

“Tell me God, what more do I have to see… if 65 feelings, 3399 runs at an average of 55. with a strike rate of 126, I’m not good enough… but I will keep my faith in you and hopefully people believe in me still… cause I will come back for sure OM SAI RAM”

Earlier, he expressed his frustration at being left out of the 16-member squad for the Vijay Hazare Trophy despite being a performer in the last few years.

After Prithvi Shaw's comments on his Vijay Hazare Trophy selection, an MCA official told news agency PTI that Shaw is 'his own enemy'"

"In the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, we were playing with 10 fielders as we were forced to hide Prithvi Shaw. The ball would pass near him, and he would barely be able to get to it," the official said on conditions of anonymity.

"Even while batting, we could see he was troubled reaching to the ball. His fitness, discipline and attitude are poor, and it is pretty simple: there cannot be different rules for different players," he claimed.

"Even the seniors in the team have started complaining about his attitude now," he added.

The criticism started just after Mumbai the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, where team captain Shreyas Iyer said

“He needs to improve his work ethic. If he does, there's no limit to what he can achieve," Iyer said. "We can't babysit anyone. Ultimately, it's his responsibility to sort things out.”

Before that, Prithvi Shaw remained unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
