Preliminary schedule for PSL 11 revealed
The eleventh edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) is set to be played from March 26 to May 10 across six venues, including Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Multan, Faisalabad, and Karachi. It is understood that the league's preliminary schedule has been drafted and discussed with all franchises at a meeting, though it is yet to be finalised.
Qalandars to kick off the league
According to reports, defending champions Lahore Qalandars will kick off the league with an opening game against the debutants Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen on March 26. Before the opening game, teams will have practice games from March 22-25.
The two new venues, Faisalabad and Peshawar, will host several games throughout the tournament, with Peshawar staging Peshawar Zalmi’s opening game under the lights on March 28.
Playoffs in May
The playoffs will begin in May, with Qualifier 1 and Eliminator 1 played on May 2 and 3, respectively, in Rawalpindi and Multan. Eliminator 2 is reportedly scheduled to take place on May 5 in Lahore, and the final on May 10, the venue for which is yet to be decided.
PSL confirmed earlier that the league will comprise 44 games this season, four of which will be playoffs, including the final. This will be the longest season of the league yet, with eight teams involved.
The teams will likely be divided into two groups, with each team playing twice against its group members and once each with the other group. In total, all eight teams will play 10 matches.
