Peshawar Zalmi rope in Shoriful Islam among reports of Mills pulling out of PSL
Peshawar Zalmi have signed Bangladesh pacer Shoriful Islam for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. Shoriful is the fourth pacer the franchise has roped in following the auction, following Tymal Mills, Shahnawaz Dahani, and Mohammad Basit.
Soriful’s brilliance in BPL
Shoriful will be making his debut in the league, as he has only played in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) and Lankan Premier League (LPL) earlier. But Zalmi, who ended the auction light on pacers and the biggest purse among all teams, would be delighted to have him in their pace attack. His numbers in the shortest format are pretty exciting.
Not long ago, the Bangladesh pacer ended the BPL’s latest edition as the highest wicket-taker, grabbing 26 wickets in 12 games.
Besides him, Zalmi also signed left-arm pacer Mohammad Basit. Basit, who represented Bahawalpur in the ongoing National T20 Cup, only has eight T20 games under his belt. His 3/23 spell against Faisalabad at Imran Khan Stadium, Zalmi’s homeground, last week is likely to have convinced the selection to bag a deal.
Has Tymal Mills pulled out of PSL?
While it is not confirmed yet, there have also been reports of English pacer Tymal Mills pulling out of the PSL. Mills was signed by Zalmi after the auction and has previously represented the franchise in the third edition of the league.
