PCB to Host Grand Ceremony for Karachi Stadium Unveiling as PCB Chief Honors Workers

Pakistan Unveils Renovated National Stadium Karachi Ahead of Champions Trophy 2025The ICC Champions Trophy is set to kick off on February 19, with Pakistan hosting the ninth edition of the tournament. Matches will be held in both Pakistan and the UAE, with all of India’s games scheduled to take place in Dubai.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will unveil the renovated National Stadium in Karachi on February 11, just before the ODI tri-series match between South Africa and Pakistan. The stadium will also host three matches, including the ICC Champions Trophy opening game.

The PCB has planned a special ceremony with free entry for fans, featuring a musical event and a tribute to 500 construction workers for their hard work in the renovation of the stadiums. The PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi will personally honor those 500 workers at the event.

Pakistan has spent around 17 billion rupees on upgrading three stadiums in preparation for the ICC Champions Trophy. There were concerns raised about the condition of three Champions Trophy venues Karachi, Lahore, and Rawalpindi. However, the PCB has completed the renovation of the stadiums on time.

The National Stadium in Karachi was built with an upgraded pavilion with dressing rooms, luxury hospitality suites, 350 LED floodlights, two digital replay screens, and 5,000 new seats for spectators. All these processes were done in just four months.
