PCB Slams ICC for Ignoring Pakistan Captain Salman Ali Agha in T20 World Cup Poster

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is unhappy because Pakistan T20 captain Salman Ali Agha was not included in the ICC’s promotional poster for ticket sales of the 2026 Men’s T20 World Cup. The post only have five of the twenty captains, Suryakumar Yadav (India), Aiden Markram (South Africa), Mitchell Marsh (Australia), Dasun Shanaka (Sri Lanka), and Harry Brook (England).
PCB Upset Over Salman Ali Agha Missing From ICC T20 World Cup Poster
As per to PTI report, the PCB has raised the issue with the ICC and expects the ICC to fix it in future posters and promotions for the T20 World Cup. The PCB admits that Pakistan is not a top-ranked T20I team right now, but says the team has a strong history and is still very popular with fans. PCB also pointed out that the same was done by the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) in the 2025 Asia Cup. However, this point seems rather weak considering that the current ACC President is none other than PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi.
“We faced the same issues when the Asia Cup was held a few months back, and that time the broadcasters had started a promotional campaign without our captain featuring in it. We are facing a similar situation this time, as the ICC has not projected our captain on the promotional poster for ticket sales,” a PCB source told PTI.
The PCB’s complaint about Salman being left out also doesn’t seem strong. Except for Shanaka, the other four captains on the ICC poster are from the top-ranked teams. Shanaka’s only present because Sri Lanka is co-hosting the T20 World Cup with India. If someone should have an issue, it should be New Zealand Cricket (NZC). Despite being ranked fourth, Mitchell Santner hasn’t been included. New Zealand being left out also makes sense because Sri Lanka is one of the host countries. Overall, this doesn’t seem like a big issue, and the PCB appears to be wasting time on it.
