Pakistan vs West Indies 2025: Series Winner, Most Runs and Most Wickets

Pakistan vs West Indies 2025: Series Winner, Most Runs and Most Wickets

[ Poll: GzL3MBwv ]

The third T20I in Lauderhill turned out to be a thrilling decider after both West Indies and Pakistan had won one match each. With the series on the line, Pakistan came out all guns blazing with the bat, while the West Indies played it too safe during the chase and couldn’t keep up. Even though the West Indies had taken a lot of positives from their win in the second match, they couldn’t finish the job in the final game. Pakistan held their nerve and won the series 2-1.

Farhan and Ayub's Dominance Powers Pakistan to 189

Pakistan came in to bat first after winning the toss. PSL sensation Sahibzada Farhan lived true to his name with a 74 off 53, building the foundation of the innings. Saim Ayub (66 off 49) paired with him for a 158-run stand, and West Indies bowlers were crippled for most of the Men in Green's innings until the 17th over.

Shamar Joseph, who ended up giving away the most runs for the West Indies, finally got a breakthrough by dismissing Farhan in the 17th over. In the very next over, Hasan Nawaz was sent back for just 15 by Roston Chase. Saim Ayub held the innings together until the 19th over, and then Khushdil Shah and Faheem Ashraf added some quick runs at the end to help Pakistan finish with a solid total of 189 in their 20 overs.

West Indies Lose Early Wickets After a Good Start

During their chase, the West Indies started much like the rest of the series. An early tumble and a bit of resilience in the middle. Jewel Andrew, the opener for the Windies, started promisingly but lost his rhythm to Haris Rauf's delivery in the fifth over. Shai Hope came in next but had to go back for a mere 7 runs, leaving the hosts at 74/2 by the end of 8.2 overs.

Alick Athanaze spent a good amount of time at the crease, but his knock lacked the pace needed for such a big chase. He made 60 runs from 40 balls before getting out to Saim Ayub, who surprised everyone with his handy spin in the 13th over.

Rutherford's effort falls short as Pakistan win series

The real drama kicked in when West Indies needed 60 runs from the last 5 overs. Sherfane Rutherford was looking solid on 51, and Roston Chase was with him. They tried to keep the chase alive with a few big hits, but in a surprising move, Chase retired out on 15 in the 17th over, letting Jason Holder walk in. However, Holder couldn’t make an impact and was clean bowled by Sufiyan Muqeem for a duck.

With 25 runs needed in the final over, it was too much to ask. Hasan Ali held his nerve and got Rutherford out, sealing a 13-run win for Pakistan. With that, Pakistan took the T20I series 2-1.
