Overseas Pink Ball tests: India's Nightmare deepens

Another pink ball and another defeat, that's what India's story became during Day/Night tests overseas. When the Pink tests are in India, they are the boss, but as they step outside, it's a nightmare. The wound of 36 out has not been recovered till now, and India added another 10, another defeat to its record. 

The playbook is same:

• Play a Day-Night test at Adelaide.
• Expose your batting.
• Score low.
• Finish the match early and register a defeat that will be remembered for years. 

Dominance at home, but what about overseas?

During its three pink ball tests in India, the team dominated all three

• vs Bangladesh at Eden Gardens (2019): Won by an innings and 46 runs
• vs England at Ahmedabad (2021): Won by ten wickets
• vs Sri Lanka at Bengaluru (2022): Won by 238 runs

Adelaide struggle continues

The fans still couldn't forget the dramatic loss of the 2020 Adelaide test, where Batters came and went during a dream-like spell of Hazelwood; in half an hour, he just broke the confidence of a billion Indians. During that match, India got all out within 36 runs. And in the last game, this continued, 

The team wasn't able to score 200 in any of the innings,

None of the batters played even fifty balls.

The highest scorer of both innings was no seven batter Nitish Reddy, who scored 42.

Analyse and Improve

The team and management must analyse the match, determining what went wrong when the wrong decisions were made and how things could improve.

Rohit Sharma took responsibility for the defeat and said they lost the game because Australia played better cricket then.

"I wouldn't say it's lack of experience. It is what it is. When you come to Australia, you must take a pink ball test. Australia played better cricket than us, and they won the Test match."

He also added, "The pink ball certainly does more than the red ball, " and he mentioned black screen challenges.

The Indian team needs to think about, dig into, and rectify the issue; if you see them play the match, a different kind of hastiness is visible; no batter is trying to play longer innings. Though the Pink Ball swings more, the batter can control their bat, stick to the basics, and leave the ball; while it's easy to say, it's hard to do. 

However, the team has to find a way to play more day/night games and do more practice sessions in the evening.
