Mumbai Indians Playing XI against UP Warriorz| UPW-W vs MI-W

[Womens Premier League 2025.t20 - Mumbai Indians Women , Up Warriorz Women 2025-03-06 19:30:00]

Mumbai Indians, after losing the last match against Delhi Capitals by a significant margin, will be playing its next match against UP Warriorz at the Ekana stadium in Lucknow. Currently, at the third position in the points table, Mumbai needs to win its upcoming matches to secure the playoff spot. This article will discuss Mumbai Indians expected playing XI for the upcoming match against UP Warriorz.

Mumbai Indians have played 5 matches this season, winning three of them against Royal Challengers Bengaluru, UP Warriorz and Gujarat Giants while losing both matches against Delhi Capitals. In the last match played against Delhi Capitals, Mumbai Indians, while batting first, could only score 123 runs, losing 9 wickets in 20 overs; in its response, Delhi Capitals chased the target in just 14.3 overs.

The current season of the Women's Premier League started on 14 February with the match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru and Gujarat Giants. It will continue for over 10 more days, ending on 15 March with the finals.

Mumbai Indians predicted playing 11 for the upcoming match against UP Warriorz

Opener Hayley Matthews Right-hand Bat/Off-spin
Opener Yastika Bhatia (wk) Left-hand Bat
No. 3 Nat Sciver-Brunt All-rounder
No. 4 Amelia Kerr All-rounder
No. 5 Sanjeevana Sanjana All-rounder

No. 7 Kamalini Gunalan Left-hand Bat
No. 8 Shabnim Ismail Right-arm Fast
No. 9 Saika Ishaque Left-arm Spin
No. 10 Jintimani Kalita Right-arm Medium

Top Order

For the top order, Mumbai Indians have Hayley Mathews and wicketkeeper Yastika Bhatiya as the openers in the playing 11. While at the third number, Nat Sciver-Brunt will be playing, currently the second-highest run-scorer of the WPL 2025. Nat has scored 272 runs in the five matches played with an outstanding average of 90.66.

Middle Order

For the middle order in the playing XI, captain and star Indian batter Harmanpreet Kaur, a key player in the middle order, along with Amelia Kerr and Amanjot Kaur. Harmanpreet Kaur hasn't scored runs this season for the team, except in the first few matches. On the other hand, Amelia Kerr has disappointed MI fans as she hasn't scored even a single 20+ score this season.

Lower order

For the lower order, MI's playing XI is expected to have Sanjeevana Sanjana and Kamalini Gunalan; both batters haven't scored runs in the season in the chance they got; with the crucial matches coming, both the batters need to score runs for the teams in the last few overs. It will be interesting to see if the team will drop these players in the upcoming matches if they continue to struggle.

Bowlers

On the bowling side, the team has Nat Sciver-Brunt and Shabnim Ismail as key bowlers, with Hayley Matthews playing a big role in the middle overs. Certainly, Mumbai Indians bowling lineup lacks big names and relies more on the all-rounder and Indian options, which sometimes hurts the team at the crucial time.
