Michael Clarke: If Virat Kohli Retires, It Would Be a Loss to Indian Cricket
Michael Clarke, former Australian captain for cricket team, recently expressed strong support for Virat Kohli the cricket star from India. On the Beyond23 Cricket Podcast, Clarke said that, he would do whatever it takes to keep Kohli in the team, despite the challenges he's facing in Test cricket.
Clarke said even though Kohli hasn't been scoring many runs in his most recent important cricket games, he quickly highlighted the person's skills and impact. Clarke mentioned, the man can hit 200 runs tomorrow if he wants to. Kohli's that skilled. Kohli could continue to play for as long as he wants. If he decides to retire from Test cricket now, the only team that will be at a disadvantage is India.
I would be begging virat to not retire & play as long as he can its Ind's loss if virat retires

Michael Clarke is behind Virat Kohli, even if he didn't score many runs after hitting an amazing century in the opening match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. Clarke said that if he were in charge of any team with Kohli, he'd ensure Kohli stayed, even if he didn't perform well in the upcoming games. Kohli began the series with a great start but couldn't keep going strong in the next matches. Clarke still thinks he should be in the team, whatever happens.
Clarke pointed out how different the two players handled things. A lot of fans were upset because the Indian batter kept losing his wicket outside the off stump where the bowler aims on the ground throughout the series. They even discussed how this situation wasn't anything close to Sachin Tendulkar's amazing double century at the SCG, mainly because Sachin stay away from the cover drive.
Clarke mentioned, Sachin and Virat have their own ways of playing. Many people in Australia compare them during the BGT. They remember Sachin playing in a Test match and even though he was great at playing the cover drive a few times, he reconfigured how he played and knocked a 200 at the SCG. However, Virat's thing is how he masters hitting the ball that's where he shines. He truly understands his way of playing the game.
Even when Kohli isn't playing his best, Clarke shows very clearly he still thinks Kohli is important to the Indian test team and has very much talent. Kohli being on the field is very important, according to Clarke.
