Lahore Qalandars sign South Africa’s Rubin Hermann for PSL 11
Lahore Qalandars have roped in South Africa’s wicketkeeper batter, Rubin Hermann, for the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) season. Lahore had signed the fewest number of foreign players before and during the auction, five in total, despite being allowed upto seven overseas players per team.
Qalandars get another overseas player
Their overseas contingent includes: Sikandar Raza, who was retained ahead of the auction, Mustafizur Rehman, directly signed ahead of the auction, and Gudakesh Motie, Parvaiz Hossain Emon, and Dasun Shanaka, all of whom were picked during the auction.
With Hermann's inclusion, the squad size now grows to eighteen, while the number of foreign players is five. The South African batter comes off a pedestrian SA20 season, where he scored at an average of 25.11 at a strike rate of 109 for Paarl Royals. The same franchise also had Qalandar’s core player, Raza, and this year’s season debutant, Gudakesh Motie.
The franchise did not reveal the signing price for the South African batter. Hermann made his T20I debut last year and has batted in the top order for South Africa.
