Jammu and Kashmir created history by winning their first Ranji Trophy title after drawing the final of the 2025–26 Ranji Trophy. Many people expected Karnataka to win, but Jammu and Kashmir proved the critics wrong and secured a historic victory. It is worth noting that the game ended in a draw, but due to Jammu and Kashmir holding the lead in the first innings of the game, the side was declared the winners as they clinched their maiden title.

Essentially, all day long, Jammu and Kashmir was the superior team in both batting and scoring. In their first innings, Jammu and Kashmir made 584 runs. The top scores were: Yawer Hassan - 88 runs, Shubham Pundir - 121 runs, and the other batters contributed nicely. However, in contrast to the batters from Jammu and Kashmir, Karnataka only managed to score a total of 293 runs after conceding a total of 584 runs in their first innings. Of these 293 runs by Karnataka, Mayank Agarwal had 160 and none of the other batter contributed more than 40.
Auqib Nabi was the star performer in the first innings again, taking five wickets. Sunil Kumar and Yudhvir Singh picked up two wickets each, while Sahil Lotra also took one wicket. Qamran Iqbal performed brilliantly and stayed unbeaten on a score of 160 runs in 311 deliveries. Sahil Lotra added 101* runs on the board as well. By the end of day 5, the side had posted a total of 342 runs and declared, after which the game was tied, and Jammu and Kashmir were declared the Ranji Trophy champions.
