Jake Fraser-McGurk pulls out of PSL 11 citing personal reasons
Australian opener Jake Fraser-McGurk has opted out of the upcoming season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), set to begin on March 26. He cited personal reasons as the explanation behind pulling out of the league.
Leaving PSL for personal reasons
The young batter was signed by the debutant franchise Pindiz for PKR 33.6 million after the PSL auction. The news was confirmed by the franchise in an X (formerly Twitter) post that read:
“It’s now official: Jake Fraser-McGurk has opted out of the tournament due to personal reasons.”
Interestingly, he went unsold during the PSL auction, where he had registered at a base price of PKR 42 million, the highest bracket in the league. Rawalpindi have not revealed the price at which they signed the batter.
Fraser-McGurk’s franchise experience
The 23-year-old has featured in several franchise leagues, including the Big Bash League, where he has represented Melbourne Renegades for six years, the IPL, Major League Cricket, and ILT20.
His recent BBL and IPL seasons were pretty underwhelming, though he was, in contrast, impressive during the MLC 2025, scoring at an average of 25 while striking at a rate of 169.
He was earlier unsold during the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini auction, where he entered at a base price of INR 20 million. However, some reports from unverified sources claim that he is in talks with an IPL franchise.
